Beware of Banshees is a festival for heavy music that smashes gender norms at De Nijverheid. For this fifth edition we have a full day of loud acts across 3 stages, diversity‑inspiring workshops, an inclusion panel, a Banshee tattoo parlor, and much more. In short: an inspiring day with incredibly sick bands.

The lineup is complete! Get ready for farty Rave Rock duo Cowboy Hunters (UK), Freak Punk by Be N!ce (UK), Post‑Punk Power band TRUT, Metallic Hardcore from Serve, groove metal by BIGMOTH, raucous Riot Grrrl Rock’n’Roll band Big Tears (IE), doomy post-rock by L’orne and the Heavy Punk instigators of this festival: Rats and Daggers.

The Worst Karaoke will once again host their legendary anti‑talent show at Boot122. DJs Yssie, Rattekop & Bean will spin records to keep you all dancing, and there’s plenty more to do!

Free workshops include adult skateboarding with Skatepark Utrecht, Blue Tomato, and Plankwijven; learn how to grunt with Cheyenne Vankan, vocalist of Serve, reclaim the music industry with Laura Nagtegaal and learn how minorities can positively change the status quo.

Make activist bracelets with Bead The System to raise money for the charity Trans in Eigen Hand, which works to make gender‑affirming care available through general practitioners and help people avoid often traumatic waiting lists.

This year we also have our first workshop aimed at men by Emancipator A safer scene: how can men contribute to safety and gender equality?

​

Once again we’re hosting an inclusivity panel to support our trans friends in a time of extreme discrimination and violence against them: How to be a good ally in support of people who are Trans or Non‑Binary? The panel consists of River, Laura, Levi (TRUT), Lilith, and Judy (Big Tears) and starts right before the first act, so arrive early!

The Banshee Market this year includes Van Helsing Tattoos, Fuego Beauty with their teeth gems, Bead the System protest bracelets, Reinventades, upcycled clothing by queer Latines, and of course merch from our sick acts.
